This site is a tribute to Ian Ferguson, who was born in Northumberland on December 10, 1939. He is much loved Father, Grandfather, Husband and Friend who we will always remember.

Ian was a mechanic by trade, a keen rower and rugby player and had the honour of representing his county Northumberland on more than one occasion. Ian was a keen Liverpool supporter and watching them gave him a lot of pleasure over the years. Growing up in Berwick upon Tweed and moving to London in 1970, Ian was a gregarious and kind man, loyal and welcoming to many people over the years. He will be sorely missed by friends and family alike. 

The Family would appreciate in way of anyone wishing to pay an tribute to the memory of Ian that they donate money to the North London Hospice. Ian was treated very well by the Hospice and he had nothing but good words to say about the staff.

The hospice do soo much to help for those that need it. In the past year the palliative care team conducted regular visits to see Dad and help when his own GP wouldn't. They organised specialist equipment for Dad when his mobility worsened. They were available by phone when needed and the team were always caring and respectful which Dad greatly appreciated.  

In his last days Dad had a safe and caring environment and the Hospice staff made him feel valued and important. They are a charity and all the great care they give is free. I hope that none of you or your loved ones end up in the position of needing the help that the hospice provides, but if you could spare anything to help other people in a similar position to Dad and make a tough time a little better.

My Dad really loved the hospice his last day of really being active was in a quiz at the hospice and he was so happy and energised by that experience. Three days later he passed away. Thank you for everything North London Hospice did for Ian on behalf of the Ferguson family.
